Abaco National Park

Abaco National Park is on the island of Abaco and measures 20,500 acres in the south of the island. The reserve was designated as protected by the Government of the Bahamas. The park has an area of 5,000 acres of pine forest, which is the habitat of nearly 1,000 parrot Abaco. They once lived on the 7 islands of the Bahamas, but now there are only Abaco and Great Inagua. Abaco parrots are known as being the only species of parrot in the Caribbean who used to build the nest and live on land, in the pine forest. Due to this reason that the brood eggs parrots are extremely vulnerable to predators.
